The 2025 Real County Junior Livestock Show was held on January 9 & 10, 2025 at the E.E. Bushong Showbarn in Leakey. Exhibitors who live in Real County or attend Leakey ISD, Nueces Canyon CISD, or Big Springs Charter School competed with their animal projects. The weather was a little chilly but the donors were very generous.

Real County Jr. Livestock Show Association strives to promote family, community and volunteerism through leadership development, agricultural education, and competition with a goal of creating leaders of tomorrow.

- September 27, 2025 (Saturday) Real County Breeder Rabbit Validation, 2:00-4:00 Bushong Showbarn, Leakey
- September 28, 2025 (Sunday) Real County Breeder Rabbit Validation, 2:00-4:00 Bruce Park, Camp Wood
- September 30, 2025 (Tuesday) Breeding Date for Meat Pen Rabbits
- October 17, 2025 (Friday) Deadline for Broiler Chicken Orders
- October 26, 2025 (Sunday) All Real County Swine, Goats, and Lamb Validation Date, State Validation for Meat Goats and Lambs, 2:00-4:00, Bushong Showbarn, Leakey
- December 14, 2025 (Sunday) Meat Pen Tattoo Verification Date, 2:00-4:00 Bushong Showbarn, Leakey
- November 2 & 9, 2025 (Sunday) Ask your advisor if you are showing any swine that will also need to be tagged for state
- January 3, 2026 (Saturday) Bushong Showbarn Workday, Leakey 9:00 am—4:00 pm
- January 4, 2026 (Sunday) Bushong Showbarn Workday, Leakey 1:00—4:-00
- January 8-9, 2026 (Thursday-Friday) Real County Junior Livestock Show
- January 11, 2026 (Sunday) Pen Clean Up Deadline 5:00 pm
Note: In order to show horses, broiler chickens, or meat pen rabbits, you must report to one of the 3 validation dates to register and pay your entry fee of $40.
All exhibitors will be required to fill out a W2 form at validation so be prepared with your social security number and $40 entry fee.
All horse exhibitors need to make sure you have your Coggins papers up to date.
